Nano G1 Explorer
Premium hardware from B&Q Consulting. Internal wideband antenna maintains excellent performance even in pockets. Built for serious outdoor use.
Important: 915 MHz for United States
Always buy the 915 MHz version for use in the United States. The 868 MHz version (Europe) is not legal in America.
What Sets The G1 Explorer Apart?
The Nano G1 Explorer from B&Q Consulting addresses a genuine problem with portable LoRa devices: antenna performance degrades significantly when the device is carried close to the body. The G1 Explorer solves this with a carefully designed internal wideband antenna.
Operating across 815-940 MHz, the same device works throughout North America, Europe, and Australia without antenna changes. Genuinely useful for travelers or those living near frequency band boundaries.
Neil Hao designed this device specifically for outdoor adventures where reliability matters: hiking, skiing, backcountry exploration. The emphasis throughout is on RF performance that remains consistent regardless of how the device is carried.

Design Philosophy
B&Q Consulting designed the G1 Explorer around a single principle: RF performance that remains consistent regardless of carrying position. The internal wideband frontend maintains excellent transmission and reception across the MeshCore network whether the device sits on a table or nestles in a jacket pocket.
The wideband design accommodates international travel without hardware swaps. Visit Europe, cross to Australia, return stateside - the same device operates legally throughout without antenna modifications.
Official Meshtastic firmware support arrived with version 2.0.21.83. Updates install via simple drag-and-drop file transfer, requiring no special tools or technical knowledge.
Where To Purchase
Available through the official B&Q Consulting shop at Unit Engineering. Priced around $70. The wideband antenna operates legally throughout the Americas including the 915 MHz band.
