RegionMesh
A community-built mesh radio network for the United States
When the internet or cellular networks fail — or simply aren't available — RegionMesh lets you keep sending messages.
RegionMesh is a community-driven initiative helping people build regional mesh radio networks. Using affordable LoRa radio devices, you can communicate with family, friends, and neighbors without relying on cell towers or the internet.
Works Offline
No cell towers, no internet, no infrastructure required
Easy to Use
Pairs with your smartphone via Bluetooth – message like any chat app

One-time device purchase, then free to use forever
Community-Built
A growing network of repeaters being deployed across the US
What Is RegionMesh?
RegionMesh is a community-driven project helping build regional mesh radio networks across the United States. When traditional communication networks don't work — due to outages, congestion, disasters, or remote locations — RegionMesh enables people to keep communicating with each other.
Using LoRa (Long Range) radio technology, you can send text messages to family, neighbors, and your community — completely independent of cell towers, internet providers, or the power grid.
Built on MeshCore technology — an open-source protocol that enables messages to hop across a decentralized network of community-operated repeaters.
The network grows as more people participate. Every new user and repeater extends coverage and strengthens the network for everyone in the region.
How It Works
- A small radio device pairs with your smartphone via Bluetooth
- Messages hop between devices until they reach their destination
- Works without internet, cell service, or grid power
Free to Use — No Subscriptions
There is no provider, no monthly fee, and no owner of the network itself.
One-Time Purchase
Devices start around $50
Buy once, use forever
No Running Costs
No carrier fees, no monthly bills
Free to use, always
Community-Maintained
Repeaters deployed by community members across the US
Coverage varies by location and participation
Note: Your only cost is the radio hardware itself. RegionMesh is community-run and open-source — there is nobody to pay for usage.
Why RegionMesh?
Communication that doesn't depend on traditional infrastructure.
When Networks Fail or Aren't Available
Cellular networks can become overloaded during events or fail during storms, wildfires, or power outages. In remote areas, there may be no coverage at all. RegionMesh works because it doesn't depend on cell towers, internet, or centralized servers — devices communicate directly with each other.
Stay Connected
Reach family and neighbors when networks are unavailable
No Infrastructure Needed
Works without cell towers, internet, or grid power
Community Strength
Every participant strengthens the network for others
RegionMesh is about community, experimentation, and preparedness — building resilient communication networks together.

A Network That's Community-Built
Individuals and communities across the United States are building regional mesh communication networks.
From the Pacific Northwest to New England, from rural areas to urban neighborhoods, people are deploying repeaters that link communities together.
RegionMesh provides resources and coordination to help people get started with mesh radio communication.
Coverage varies by location and depends on community participation. The network grows as more people join and deploy devices.
